TOBBUND has put the Transit Facilitation Center (TFC) into service, which will save transport companies from great loss of time and cost.
The customs procedures of the companies that come directly to the center in Edirne without visiting the internal customs are completed in an average of 45 minutes and the vehicles can set off. In this way, time and transaction costs are reduced by reducing the waiting period from 15 hours at internal customs to 45 minutes.
TOBBUND has put the first leg of its new project into practice, which will end the long customs wait times, one of the biggest problems of the logistics industry. With its 10 years of service experience and knowledge, TOBBUND started its “Transit Facilitation Center” project with the facility it built in Edirne in order to adapt the transporters to the next generation transit system.
International road transporters who will use the new system do not need to stop by internal customs. Companies that come to the Transit Facilitation Center, which is very close to the Kapıkule, Hamzabeyli and Ipsala border gates, complete their transit declaration transactions quickly, easily and effectively, by means of authorized consignor licence of TOBBUND for the first time in Turkey.
The Transit Facilitation Center has been put into practice in order to enable companies, which do not have Authorized Economic Operator Status and Authorized Consignor Licence and which cannot invest in it, to benefit from this convenience. For the borders of Kapıkule, Hamzabeyli and İpsala; since vehicles arriving with export declaration, bill of loading and ATR documents can be sealed and become ready for transit within 45 minutes, “Transit transport vehicles save significant time as they do not stop by Muratbey and Erenköy customs. 15-HOUR TRANSACTION FINISHES IN 45 MINUTES
Our authorities carry out all the transactions of an export-loaded Truck and forward it to the gate within an hour, so we save logistics businesses from this time loss of 15 hour; this has been clearly measured with a real simulation. In the comparison, the customs and arrival times of two Trucks going from Istanbul to Germany are compared. While one Truck passes through an internalcustoms, the other carries out customs procedures from the Transit Facilitation Center. When the truck leaving the Transit Facilitation Center arrives in Germany, the other truck does not pass through Croatia yet, which is considered as the clearest determination that it provides a one-day time advantage.
WE REDUCE COSTS BY ONE THIRD
Time is not the only advantage of the system. Companies using the Transit Facilitation Center also gain a significant cost advantage. A fixed price has been determined and while this is applied to all companies, it is seen that this price is one third of the expenses spent in internal customs. Vehicles that stop by internal customs, due to their entry into Istanbul traffic, have extra loss of fuel and time, which means more loss of time and money.
Another important gain for logistics businesses is the quality of service offered to the customer and it has very positive reflections on the companies.
WE MEET ALL STANDARDS SPECIFIED BY THE MINISTRY
It was worked on the project for about 1 year, first the location was determined and progress was made step by step. The reason for choosing Edirne is to avoid companies to enter into Istanbul traffic. Transporters can easily reach the facility in Edirne from the Northern Marmara Highway. During the construction of the facility, all the standards specified by the Ministry were considered down to the last detail. The facility meets all the standards specified by the Ministry with its 24/7 monitorability, enclosed spaces, ground and scale.
THE PROJECT RECEIVES STRONG SUPPORT FROM THE MINISTRY AS IT WILL INCREASE EXPORTS
TOBBUND has received strong support from the Ministry of Commerce and related administrations since the launch of this project. The biggest reason for this is the contribution of the project to exports. In addition to the support of the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, significant support was received from Edirne Governorship and Edirne Regional Directorate of Customs. TOBBUND continues to bring new services in the system as a pioneer, always taking on responsibility to facilitate the exports of the country.
250 VEHICLES WILL BE SERVED EVERY DAY
In the facility, which has the Authorized Consignor licence and was established on an area of 14 thousand square meters; the declaration, registration and sealing processes of nearly 250 vehicles can be made every day. With the land expansion work to be carried out in 2023, this capacity will be doubled.
